NFL Top-10 Picks Grades

Top-10 picks grades

By: Jake Rajala

The 2025 NFL Draft is officially in the books. It will be quite memorable how the Top-10 draft picks of the draft panned out. Hence, I’m going to give grades for the 10 picks.

1. Cam Ward

Cam Ward has arm potential to make every type of throw and the legs to shine with making quality throws on the run. He was the best QB in the draft. I don’t completely agree with his comparisons to Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers, however. I believe he will be more like former first overall pick Matthew Stafford. The Titans really needed a quality QB, so it made sense they wouldn’t trade the pick away.

Grade: B+

2. Travis Hunter

I don’t love the draft trade by the Jags to trade up for Travis Hunter. I would say he’s an A- at WR and CB. So, I wouldn’t say he quite has Calvin Johnson or Julio Jones potential at WR, or Sauce Gardner caliber at CB. Hunter can be a Pro Bowler at WR or CB, but I don’t love the trade by the Jags with their goal of getting a non-QB.

Grade: B-

3. Abdul Carter

Abdul is closer to Travon Walker potential than Aidan Hutchinson up-side. He is raw in some areas. Abdul can still wreak havoc against the run and pass. He also had a 91.3 PFF grade for his 2024 season. He didn’t run the 40 yard dash, but there is speculation he can run in the 4.4s. He will need to work on his pass rush moves.

Lawrence Taylor will also not allow Abdul to wear his 56 jersey.

Grade: B+

4. Will Campbell

The Pats have their franchise QB in Drake Maye. All they were missing was a prime tackle to protect Maye’s blind-side. Campbell can be an All-Pro player at the tackle spot. He does have short arms, but he makes up for it with height. He had a total score of Next Gen Stats of 85, which was first at the OT spot.

Grade: A

5. Mason Graham

Mason Graham has Chris Jones potential at the DT spot. He dismantled Ohio State, to say the least. Graham had the most production by a college DT last season. He has a very high motor. I would have liked to see him have more bench press reps (as he had 24). Graham and Myles Garrett can be the best DT-DE combo in the league.

Grade: A-

6. Ashton Jeanty

Ashton Jeanty can be the next Saquon Barkley or Alvin Kamara. In other words, he has Hall of Fame potential. He can mow down foes and chew the clock in the run game. He can take it the distance, too. He can shine from the slot WR spot. The Raiders knew they needed more dynamite – as they play the Chiefs twice a season.

Grade: A

7. Armand Membou

Armand is a stellar pick for a team that’s already loaded with weapons. Armand is regarded as a raw prospect, which makes it surprising that he was taken in the Top-10. The Jets can be patient with Armand, if they are already being patient with Fields. A TE wouldn’t have been a surprise here.

Grade: B

8. Tetairoa McMillan

Tetairoa was a brilliant pick in my opinion. I don’t care if it was a bit of a reach. Bryce Young took a step forward last season, so it’s wise to take a step with him. Adam Thielen turns 35 in August. Hence, it’s time to bring in more youth at the WR spot. T-Mac has drawn comparisons to Mike Evans with his combination of size (6’5) and speed (4.48 40 time).

Grade: A

9. Kelvin Banks Jr.

Kelvin Banks Jr. was a brilliant pick for the Saints in my opinion. Banks Jr. has production and traits to show he’s the real deal. They already have an elite RB and a quality WR duo. I also believe it was wise to take him above a QB, especially if they felt they could get a Top-3 QB outside the first round.

Grade: A-

10. Colston Loveland

Colston Loveland doesn’t run a 4.5 40, but he does have gifted quickness and catching skills. He proved to excel for Michigan in the Big 10. The Bears are giving Caleb Williams a lot of ammunition to succeed in his sophomore season. He was compared to Tyler Eifert by B/R scouting department. I wouldn’t say he quite has Gronk or George Kittle’s ability.

Grade: B+
