NFC South offensive triplets
By: Jake Rajala
There are a lot of electric offensive triplets in the NFC South. Whether it’s at the QB spot, RB position, or WR spot, there is a lot of explosion and points put up on the board. With that said, I’m going to rank the offensive triplets in the NFC South.
1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
It’s hard to forget that Baker threw 41 touchdowns last season. He did play a little too loose with the football – as he recorded 16 ints. Mike Evans was the key reason why he unleashed hell against their foes, as he recorded 11 touchdowns. Bucky Irving is also a stellar ball-carrier, as he unleashed 1,122 rushing yards, eight rushing touchdowns, and averaged 5.4 YPC.
2. New Orleans Saints
Chris Olave and Alvin Kamara are quite an electric RB-WR duo. The concern is that the Saints have a Day 2 rookie QB. I still believe that Tyler can be a quality game manager at worst. Kamara isn’t washed up just yet. He had 950 rushing yards and 543 receiving yards a season ago.
3. Atlanta Falcons
I love Bijan Robinson and Drake London. I would still say that the Saints WR-RB duo is equal to the Falcons RB-WR duo. Kamara can be more of a security blanket for Shough. I like Tyler Shough a little more than Michael Penix. Penix wasn’t that appealing in his three games – as he went 1-2.
4. Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers offensive triplet will be light years from where they were last off-season. Tetairoa McMillan is a dark horse, early OROY candidate. Chuba Hubbard is also a bowling ball. The Panthers don’t have a bad offensive triplet, but they just sit in a division where there are Pro Bowl RBs or Pro Bowl QBs.
The NFC South is fully capable of putting up fireworks for many years when Young, Penix Jr, and Tyler grow for 1-2 more years. It would be more fascinating to see if Christian McCaffrey was still with the Panthers. However, this simulation wouldn’t allow that.
