Dolphins at Colts preview
By: Jake Rajala
The Miami Dolphins will look to bully a team that is quite shaky right now. Anthony Richardson has to be full of steam, after failing to run away with the QB1 job. Daniel Jones sputtered out of the Big Apple and he is out to prove he can start again. The Phins don’t have a question mark at QB. Tua Tagovailoa is a modest QB seeking to take that next step and be a Pro Bowler.
The Colts need to pound the rock with J-Taylor. They especially need Taylor to help their young QB that starts. It won’t be easy however as the Phins ranked 8th in rushing yards per game allowed.
It doesn’t get easy in the passing game either. The Phins are 10th in passing yards per game allowed. I’d love to see more quick screens for Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. It won’t be wise to test back this secondary too much.
Taylor has been a rumor as a trade candidate. I believe that’s silly. JT ran for 1,431 rushing yards and 11 TDs last season! Plus, he’s freakin 26 years old! He can have a Hall of Fame career still!
The former Chief Charvarius Ward and former Viking Camryn Bynum should slow down the explosion from Miami.
So, it’s clear: the Dolphins and Colts have gifted players. So, does that mean it’s a fair competitive battle? Well, not exactly. The Colts have won “four of their past five” showdowns. Mike McDaniel has to prove his worth by beating a quality team, especially if that well-rounded team is in his own division.
