Redrafting the Top-10 picks of the 2020 draft

Top-10 picks of the 2020 draft

By: Jake Rajala

The 2020 NFL Draft was a modest draft. There were a few quality QBs taken. There were some amazing skill players taken, too. With that said, I’m going to take an exciting angle by redrafting the first-ten picks of the 2020 draft.

1. Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow

The Bengals hit the jackpot with Joe Burrow. He fits in perfectly as the number one pick. He has recovered nicely from season-ending injuries and has led his team to the Super Bowl.

2. Washington Commanders: Jalen Hurts

Jalen Hurts led the Eagles to a Super Bowl victory against the KC Chiefs. He also won the NFC Championship in 2023. Hurts can hurt defenses with his legs when the defense is prepared for his arm. The scary part is that Hurts is 26!

3. Detroit Lions: Justin Jefferson

Justin Jefferson is the second best WR right now (after Ja’Marr Chase). All Jefferson has done is be first-team All-Pro twice in his short career thus far. Jefferson and Amon St. Brown would be the best WR duo in the league.

4. New York Giants: Justin Herbert

I don’t agree with Jim Harbaugh when he says Herbert is the best QB of all time. However, he is knocking on the door to become a Top-10 QB. Herbert needs more weapons, if he wants to go all the way. Perhaps the Giants can acquire Chris Olave.

5. Miami Dolphins: Tua Tagovailoa

“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”

Tua Tagovailoa went from being benched to leading the league in categories like completion percentage and passing yards. Tua is 27 years old, so he has a lot of potential.

6. Los Angeles Chargers: Ceedee Lamb

Ceedee Lamb has proven to be a Top-5 WR. In 2023, he unleashed 1,749 rushing yards and 12 TDs. Lamb would also help a young QB, if Justin Herbert wasn’t there.

7. Carolina Panthers: Tristan Warfs

The Panthers will likely have a young QB if Bryce Young isn’t on their team. I’d love to see the Panthers select a tackle before a QB, just as how the Lions picked Penei Sewell before acquiring Jared Goff.

8. Arizona Cardinals: Tee Higgins

Enough of Tee Higgins being the best WR2 in the league. He can thrive as a WR1. Higgins notched 911 yards and 10 TDs last season. If he gets more targets, he could be a Pro Bowler.

9. Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevon Diggs

Trevon Diggs will either intercept the pass or get burnt. I’d love to see Diggs join an AFC South conference that has shaky QB play!

10. Cleveland Browns: Jonathan Taylor

Even at this point, J-Taylor would get the bulk of the carries, while Nick Chubb rotates in a little. Of course, it wouldn’t take long for Taylor to be leaned on heavily.
