Is McDaniel on the hot seat right now?

Mike McDaniel really shined early in his coaching career. He went 9-8 in his rookie season, which is admirable. He also went 11th in points and sixth in yards.
In his second NFL, he took an impressive step forward, which is expected by any coach or player. He went 11-6 as a sophomore. His offense ranked “first in yards and second in points”! Sure, it would seem, that the Dolphins would unleash another well-oiled machine on offense and take a step forward into the big dance! Well, that was not exactly the case.
His team went 8-9 last season. His offense was 18th in yards and 22nd in points.
So, a fair question ponders: is McDaniel on the hot seat? I believe he is on the hot seat.
Not only has McDaniel struggled over the past season, but he’s struggled against winning teams. He was once “3-14 against teams with a winning record”!
McDaniel also needs to have a plan if Tyreek Hill struggles. Hill had 959 yards and six touchdowns, which were both his worst figures since his rookie season! They need to get Jaylen Waddle more involved. They also need a quality LT, since Terron Armstead retired. It won’t be easy for a new LT to shine throughout the long season and against elite edge rushers in the post-season.
I believe if McDaniel has a worse record than last season, I would expect “Hill and McDaniel” to be axed from the team. They will need to reshape the offense if they play below-average for another season. It would be wise to rebuild, especially with the Buffalo Bills playing like a Top-3 team.
McDaniel is a genius, but that doesn’t mean his ideas can work, especially with poor pieces. Chip Kelly couldn’t make his offense work long-term, so he had to leave the NFL for many years.
