Best and worst case for the Miami Dolphins

Outlook for the Miami Dolphins

By: Jake Rajala

The Miami Dolphins are a hard team to crack. They have loads of talent, but they can’t quite be a playoff contender. Hopefully, Tua stays healthy and leads them to the promised land. With that said, I’m going to take a unique angle by untwining the best and worst case for the Phins moving forward.

Best

Tua has a record of 38-24. Tua has also led the league in passing yards and completion percentage before. He can put his team in a spot to win repeatedly. It’s strange that his squad went 8-9 last season. Sure, he went 6-5 and missed a few games. There is still no excuse, as we’ve seen the Phins win without Tua before. His team still ranked 9th in PPG allowed, which is superb. His team can swallow up the two young QBs in the division (Drake Maye and Justin Fields) next season.

I believe their best record could be 12-5.

Worst

The Phins aren’t a playoff contender just yet. They were 22nd in PPG allowed last season and 22nd in scoring. Tyreek Hill also failed to eclipse 1k yards! The Dolphins also ranked 21st in rushing. Their play-action didn’t scare anybody. The worst part about the Dolphins is the injury habits of Tua. He missed six games last season, four games in 2022, and four games in 2021.

I believe their worst record could be 7-10.

The Phins could really set a statement by beating the Buffalo Bills next season. They barely lost in their last match-up, by a score of 30-27. The Phins have a golden opportunity to sweep the Jets and Pats in my opinion. Of course, I believe their best player, Hill, needs to show up and prove he’s on the same tier as Justin Jefferson and Ja’Marr Chase.

Hill and Jaylen Waddle should be losing sleep over the fact that PFF ranked their WR group as the seventh-best WR unit!
