Cleveland Browns vs Cincinnati Bengals: 3 x factors

Browns vs Bengals

By: Jake Rajala

Cincy travels to take on its division foe, the Cleveland Browns. Each team has a clean slate. They both also have quality coaches and veteran QBs. Each team has left its mark on another over the past several years. With that said, I’m going to unfold 3 x factors in this game.

David Njoku

The NFL world is sleeping on David Njoku after he only had 505 yards last season. Although it must be noted he only played in 11 games. Let’s not forget he recorded 882 yards and six TDs in 2023. With a veteran QB in Joe Flacco, he will utilize his TE until the cows come home. Njoku is somewhat of a slot WR with a massive frame.

Amarius Mims

Amarius Mims could be the star if he handles Myles Garrett. I foresee Mims holding his ground and getting help often. He is 22, so he is still learning. I believe he is quite gifted. Garrett will seek to exploit Joe Burrow’s pass protection, just as Aaron Donald mopped the floor against the Bengals OL in the Super Bowl.

Devin Bush

Devin Bush has had his lows, but he is quite versatile and a high motor guy. He had eight TFLs, three pass deflections, and 76 combined tackles last season. The Browns need to utilize him in more blitzes in my opinion. I believe that Bush will have to be sharp in coverage, or Joe Burrow will pick on him all day.

The three x-factors on my list play three different positions. All three of them have had roller coaster moments in their career. Hence, their outcome will provide a somewhat unexpected spark. I can’t wait to see the outcome of this divisional contest, regardless of the favorite heading into the game.
