Packers-Lions reflection

The Detroit Lions squared off against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau. The Packers steam rolled their nemesis. With that said, I’m going to lay out five things we learned from the Packers-Lions contest.
Micah Parsons debut
Micah Parsons played on a limited basis and he still popped out. He had an impressive pressure that helped the Pack get an int. He also had a fantastic play where he beat his man and chased down Jared Goff. Parsons is highly motivated after acknowledging that the Pack gave up a lot for him.
Matthew Golden sunk
Parsons had high expectations on defense. Well, Matthew Golden had high expectations on offense. He didn’t shine, to say the least. He only caught two passes. He shouldn’t worry too much. Travis Hunter only caught six grabs for 33 yards.
Hutch, where art thou?
Aidan Hutchinson was the opposite of Parsons on the day. He had zero sacks and he even failed to record a tackle! He was on pace to win DPOY last season, so he had very high expectations in Week 1. Hopefully, he can shake off some rust and have a game with multiple sacks soon.
Amon-Ra St. Brown is missing
The Lions best players weren’t flexing dominance on Sunday. Just as Hutch didn’t dominate on defense, Amon-Ra St. Brown failed to stand out. He only had four catches for 45 yards. Gibbs had 10 catches, which resulted in 31 yards. That’s a disastrous sight. Hopefully, Dan Campbell can help cook up more screens and shot plays to St. Brown.
Lions running game
It’s hard for a foe to respect a play action if there isn’t any quality running game. Well, the Lions didn’t exactly shine with their rushing attack. Montgomery averaged 2.3 YPC and Jahmyr Gibbs averaged 2.1 YPC.
It was shocking to see the Packers beat down the Lions. It would be an understatement to say the Lions will be extremely motivated to get revenge against the Pack in their second match-up.
