What happened to Antonio Brown?

The Fall of AB

By: Jake Rajala

The Pittsburgh Steelers legend, Antonio Brown, was once a cream of the crop wideout, who seemed to be a lock to make it to Canton. AB made seven Pro Bowls in a Pittsburgh Steelers uniform. He sort of fell off a cliff when he left the Steelers. In 2019, he flopped from the Raiders and Jon Gruden to join Bill Belichick and the Patriots.

He sort of revived his career when he joined the Buccaneers. He got to play with Tom Brady, which helped him as a person and a human. AB, Mike Evans, and Chris Godwin were arguably the best NFL WR trio.

AB was a stud in the playoffs for Brady and Bruce Arians. He scored a touchdown in the Super Bowl for the Bucs.

So, AB proved to have a Hall of Fame resume on the field. Is it possible that he could ruin his chances with his off the field antics?

Brown has been accused of sexual assault with a woman in 2017 and 2018 with a girl he went to college with.

He hasn’t slowed down. AB has been accused of attempted murder in the second degree. He went to Dubai, but he was extradited to the U.S.

He won’t redeem himself on the field, as Michael Vick went to prison and then came back to win CPOTY. I would really like to see AB write a book, especially if he goes to jail.

Perhaps AB could sit down with 60 minutes to explain himself and try to earn sympathy from viewers. He is clearly struggling with mental health or CTE.

The former two time Super Bowl Champion Brandon Browner went to jail for attempted murder. He nicely sat down and opened up about his childhood in an interview in jail.

Brown may be good enough to survive his off the field issues. After all, Lawrence Taylor has gone pretty far downward, yet he’s cherished and welcomed in the Hall of Fame family.
