Is it time to add Shadeur Sanders in dynasty?

Add Shadeur Sanders right now?

The secret is out: the Cleveland Browns third round pick, Dillon Gabriel, left the Week 11 game against the Baltimore Ravens with a concussion. This meant the next man was up, and this just happened to be Deion Sanders’s son, Shedeur Sanders.

The last time I heard the Browns stadium this loud for a rookie QB was for Johnny Manziel. Even Lebron James was in the audience for “Johnny Football”.

With that said, Sanders wasn’t exactly electric. Please don’t buy his pre-draft hype and rush to the waiver wire to buy this man. Sanders was only 4 for 16 (yikes), zero touchdowns, and an interception. Before Sanders entered the game, Gabriel was 7 for 10 and 68 yards passing.

The former first round projected QB (Sanders) unleashed 2.48 points in his limited actions. Hence, he wasn’t exactly daunting.

The worst part about Sanders or Gabriel’s situation is that they have below average weapons. Jerry Jeudy can’t carry the Browns skill players. David Njoku is all over the map (as he has three catches in the past two games).

The Browns are also 23rd in sacks allowed. Sanders could arguably make the team rank dead last in sacks. He tries too much to evade pass rushers, versus throwing the ball away. He also doesn’t run north and south in a normal manner. He needs to stop pretending that he’s Archie Manning or Steve Young.

I don’t even believe Sanders is better than Gabriel. Gabriel played like a better “NFL” QB in the offseason. Gabriel is also the reason that CLE felt confident with shipping Joe Flacco away.

We’ve seen growth from Drake Maye, Caleb Williams, and Bo Nix in their early careers. Perhaps Sanders and Gabriel can follow in their footsteps and then they have two young QBs brushing off on one another.
