Saints-Falcons outlook
By: Jake Rajala
The New Orleans Saints are on a four game winning streak. They will take on the Atlanta Falcons, who are coming off a monster victory against the Los Angeles Rams. With that said, I’m going to lay out bold predictions for the showdown.
Kevin Austin goes over 100 yards
Yes, it’s devastating that the 100-receptions man, Chris Olave is out, especially after DeVaugn Vele is on IR. Tyler Shough will really have to be precise and aware with the football in the last game. I expect him to lean on Kevin Austin more, who recorded a touchdown last game. He’s had five targets in two of his past three contests.
Kyle Pitts has two touchdowns
Kyle Pitts has been red hot over the past few games. Three weeks ago, he unleashed three touchdowns against the Buccaneers. Yes, you read that correctly. The Saints don’t have many big, physical corners. I expect Pitts to be a nightmare for the Saints and notch a couple of TDs in the process.
Cameron Jordan gets a couple of sacks
Cameron Jordan looks like Lawrence Taylor against the Falcons. He has been living hell for Matt Ryan. With Matty Ice no longer the Falcons QB, he will shift his attention toward Captain Kirk, who won’t be running fast out of the pocket when it breaks down.
Bijan Robinson gets below 75 rushing yards
The Saints will load the box and force Kirk Cousins to beat them. Mark my words. Bijan had 195 rushing yards last week. I believe Demario Davis, who plans on playing beyond this season (yes, he is 36 years old), will lay everything out on the line on Sunday. New Orleans is 23rd in rushing YPG allowed, but I expect them to look like their old run defense against their worst enemy, Atlanta.
Alontae Taylor gets an interception
If Alontae Taylor used the jug machine more, he would have better hands, and would have had a few ints last Sunday. He had four breakups, but he could have caught all of the balls. I expect him to finally show his vigor and playmaking ability against the Falcons.
