Free agent targets for the Buffalo Bills

Best free agent targets for the Bills

By: Jake Rajala

The Buffalo Bills came utterly close to reaching the AFC Championship last season. Sadly, they lost 33-30 to the Denver Broncos in the AFC divisional round. So, the Bills need to address some needs. Hence, I’m going to lay out some free agent targets for the Bills.

Mike Evans

The 6’5 wideout, Mike Evans, should seek to win a Super Bowl at this stage in his career. Evans recorded 1k yards in every season, until last season. It’s a proper excuse to say he couldn’t record at least 1k yards, due to him only playing in eight games. Evans has explosiveness and the ability to win 50/50 balls. He had a middle of the pack PFF grade, 69.8, but I expect him to return to his Pro Bowl days with Allen and the Bills offense.

Update: Mike Evans signed with the 49ers on a contract worth $42 million dollars over three years.

Khalil Mack

Perhaps it’s time for the former DPOY winner Khalil Mack to come home. Of course, he played college football at Buffalo. Mack brought home 5.5 sacks, which is modest. He did shine at forcing fumbles, however. He has four forced fumbles. He did this, despite only playing in 12 games. He had a PFF grade of 83 last season, was 12th in the league. He is a superb edge player, but he is 35 years old. This may not be attractive to some teams.

Update: Khalil Mack

Khalil Mack signed a contract worth $18 million for one year with the Chargers.

Alontae Taylor

Alontae Taylor can excel from the slot and out-wide. Taylor unleashed a couple of interceptions, several tackles for loss, two sacks, and 83 combined tackles. I believe he is more impressive than his PFF grade of 63.8. According to Saints Wire, he could break 17 million per year in his contract. I don’t expect the Saints, who are cap-strapped, to give him an enormous offer.

Update: Alontae Taylor signed a contract worth $58 million over three years with the Titans.

Wan’Dale Robinson

Wan’Dale Robinson is one of the most underrated free agents in 2026. He is 25 years old and coming off a career season, where he notched 1,014 receiving yards (which was 13th in in the league) and averaged 11 YPC. He does have question marks surrounding him. He never unleashed over 699 yards in his first few seasons. He has only played 17 games in one season, as well.

Kyle Dugger

Kyle Dugger is quite the versatile chess piece for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He had two ints, 59 combined tackles, a safety, and a couple of tackles for loss. He has a lot of talent, but he isn’t coming off a quality season. He had a PFF grade of 53.2. I’d love to see the Bills bring him in a on a one year prove it deal. Dugger unleashed fury in division 2. It’s not easy to make that transition from D2 to the pros.

Arden Key

Arden Key is an excellent rotational pass rusher. He scored four sacks last season and 6.5 in the season prior to that. In 2024, he had 11 tackles for loss. He had six TFLs last season. Let it be known that he only played in 11 games, yet he stood out. He was going to have a career year, if he didn’t suffer from injuries in my opinion. PFF gave him a 63.7 grade, which was 70 out of 115.

Van Jefferson

Van Jefferson isn’t a 1k yard WR right now. Still, he can be a modest WR3. He can replace Brandin Cooks. Jefferson is a well-rounded, deep threat at WR. Jefferson reminds me of MVS or Tedd Ginn. They also both aren’t overly consistent, but they can stretch the field at the right moments.

Stefon Diggs

Stefon Diggs is expected to be released from the Pats. The former WR that made the Minneapolis Miracle happen will be a free agent. Well, he should return to place where he was a Pro Bowler in each of his four seasons. Diggs was a slightly above average WR with the Pats, but he wasn’t dominant. I believe Josh Allen, who won MVP in 2024, is a slightly better signal-caller than Drake Maye.

Von Miller

It may be time for the former Super Bowl MVP Von Miller to return to Buffalo, which is a familiar place. Miller had six sacks in 2024 with Bills Mafia. He also had eight sacks in 2022. Miller is more of a third down specialist at this stage in his career. At least he still is a prominent edge rusher. Miller could seek to join the Bills, as they are a legit Super Bowl contender. I expect Miller to be a first ballot Hall of Famer.
