2026 Arizona Cardinals draft grades

Cardinals draft grades

By: Jake Rajala

The Arizona Cardinals had a complex draft. They drafted three offensive players with their first three picks. They went RB, OG, and QB. With that simply said, I’m going to lay out grades for their picks.

Jeremiyah Love: C+

I don’t love this pick. It very much reminds me of the Raiders drafting Ashton Jeanty. The Cardinals shouldn’t insert a RB into their offense when they don’t have a stout OL. Of course, they drafted a guard in the second round, but that doesn’t quite cut it. PFSN dubbed the Cardinals OL as the 23rd best OL unit. Furthermore, the Cardinals will likely ask too much from Love, as they have a below average QB situation.

Chase Bisontis: B

This is a step in the right direction. The guard Chase Bisontis had an athletic score of 85, which was sixth among OL. He had 1.76 10 yard split. He reminds me of Andrus Peat, who was very flexible and explosive. Bisontis isn’t a sure fire starter in year one, however.

Carson Beck: B+

The QB Carson Beck was a steal in my opinion. He can be the next Tyler Shough, as they both were drafted out of the first round. He was the second most productive QB according to NFL.com. He’s simply a gamer. It won’t be easy for Beck to take the job away from Jacoby Brissett, however. I have to admit he’s my fantasy QB, too.

Kaleb Proctor: B

The DT Kaleb Proctor won’t be Aaron Donald. However, he has a high motor and he’s versatile. He ran a 4,79 40 yard dash. So, he can move for a big fella. I don’t love that he skipped the bench press. It’s vital they draft an interior DL as they play Christian McCaffrey twice a season.

Reggie Virgil: B-

Reggie isn’t a Top-3 WR for the Cardinals. He will compete for special teams reps. He still has some size at 6’3, 190 pounds.

Karson Shamar: B

This guy could be a steal in the draft. He had an 82 athletic score, which was fourth among LBs. He could compete for third string reps and special teams play.

Jayden Williams: B+

It was wise for the Cardinals to bring in another offensive lineman. This isn’t their first OL drafted. He will likely try to duke it out for a spot on the practice squad.
