Boutte trade spots
By: Jake Rajala
The New England Patriots moved on from Stefon Diggs this offseason. It appears they may be moving on from another wideout. This would be none other than Kayshon Boutte. He is young and he’s on the verge of a new contract. He wants to play for a team that will fully utilize him. With that said, I’m going to lay out trade destinations for him.
San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers witnessed their starting WR Ricky Pearsall suffer a season ending injury. They did bring back Deebo Samuel to pair with Mike Evans. The issue is that Samuel is 30 years old and Evans is 32 years old. Even George Kittle and Christian McCaffrey are climbing up in age. To put it simply, they need younger faces.
Las Vegas Raiders
The Las Vegas Raiders have Brock Bowers at TE and Ashton Jeanty at RB. They are just missing a key piece at their precious WR spot. Boutte may not be ready to be the go to guy at wideout, but he can work in that direction. Tre Tucker didn’t prove to be a quality WR1 last season, but he is also young and trying to be the WR1 in 2026.
New York Jets
Geno Smith is arguably a bottom five QB. He needs more pieces on offense to uplift him. Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson are a step in the right direction. I’d still like to see another weapon before Week 1 comes around. The main reason this trade may not happen is that the Jets and Pats play in the same division.
Cleveland Browns
I despise the WR situation in Cleveland. Deshaun Watson or Shedeur Sanders deserves better. KC Concepcion was a step in the right direction. Jerry Jeudy is underrated. I’d still like to see add a more proven WR. Boutte would likely start over KC in 2026.
Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals failed to replace Tyler Boyd in my opinion. They have Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, which is one of the best WR tandems in the league. They are missing a key WR3. The Ravens and Steelers have added more key pieces this offseason. The Bengals can’t take their foot off the pedal.
Honorable Mention:
New York Giants
Boutte is less burnt out than Giants legend OBJ and tik tok star JuJu Smith-Schuster. He can be a true starting WR that can run any route and be less prone to injury. The GMEN need to take advantage of other NFC East teams playing beneath their capability.
