Biggest x-factor for the Rams
By: Jake Rajala
The Los Angeles Rams have arguably the best offense on paper. Matthew Stafford won MVP last season. Puka Nacua was first team All-Pro and Davante Adams led the league in receiving touchdowns with 14. I really believe this opens up things for the TE Colby Parkinson. He had eight touchdowns last season! Yes, you read that correctly. His previous TD high was two. It’s safe to say he really blossomed last season. Sean McVay found a way to unlock his potential. He is 27 years old, so he has many years ahead of him. After all, tight ends can play into their mid-30s.
Stafford has the strongest arm in the NFL. Well, him or Josh Allen. I want to see Stafford throw a view targets in a vertical route to Parkinson and allow him to high-point the football. McVay loves the play-action game. Perhaps Stafford can connect with him off the play. Apparently, the production from Tae still allows Parkinson to have a lot of touchdowns. I don’t want to see the Rams bring in more red-zone targets, with thats said. Their WR3 is Jordan Whittington. He has zero touchdowns in his two year career. In other words, Parkinson will need to be relied on moving forward in the red-zone.
Parkinson can’t be the only x-factor if they want to repeat as Super Bowl Champions. They play in the best division in football. They will be in plenty of tight, showdowns, that will come down to a couple of plays.
Blake Corum was a RB2 last season, but Sean McVay said that Corum will be a big part of what they do this season. He unleashed 746 yards, six rushing touchdowns, and averaged 5.1 YPC. He is living up to the expectations as a third round pick. He was MIA as a rookie, as he registered 207 rushing yards. I hope he climbs the ladder in his third season.
