Where will Chris Godwin play?

Chris Godwin has been one of the most underrated wide receivers in the NFL over the past several years. Godwin has recorded four 1,000+ yard seasons in his eight year career. Of course, he also won a Super Bowl with Tom Brady. He was on pace for over 1,000 yards last season, but he suffered a broken ankle. Well, Godwin is entering free agency and it’s unclear where he will play next. Hence, I’m going to untwine the best landing spots for Godwin.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Godwin has enjoyed a rich career with the Bucs. He gets to play with a Pro Bowl QB in Baker Mayfield and he gets to play alongside Mike Evans. He gets fantastic match-ups with defenses focusing on Evans. It was reported by B/R that the Bucs will be aggressive to retain Godwin.

Denver Broncos

According to Broncos Wire, the Broncos have the best chance to land Godwin. Sean Payton is an offensive genius and he would put Godwin in the best place to succeed. The Broncos could use more firepower in a division that had two playoff teams.

Chicago Bears

A fancy new offensive mind at head coach in Ben Johnson will be seeking to come out guns blazing in his first season. They blatantly need to help Caleb Williams take that next step and be a Pro Bowl QB. They also play in a division that just sent three teams to the playoffs. Hence, they need more dynamite.

Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders could really light up the scoreboard with Brock Bowers and Godwin. They are desperate for a WR after Davante Adams left to the Big Apple. The Raiders also sit in third in cap space, so they have plenty of ammunition to land Godwin.

Dallas Cowboys

I could foresee the Cowboys going all in with Dak Prescott and Ceedee Lamb together. The Boys just witnessed two NFC East squads in the NFC Championship, hence they need to bulk up in order to win their division. They face obstacles as they sit 26th in cap space. However, Jerry has worked his magic before.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs also stay on their heels and refuse to stay away from adding pieces. DeAndre Hopkins, Hollywood Brown, and JuJu Smith-Schuster are all free agents! Travis Kelce is also 35 and he will likely retire soon.

Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans aren’t the most functional team, but they do have the money (11th in cap space) and room to acquire Godwin. If they want to compete with a young QB like Ward, they need more juice.
