Brandin Cooks returns home

The New Orleans Saints officially sign Brandin Cooks to a two-year deal worth $13 million dollars. Cooks brings speed and more speed to the Saints WR position. After MVS signed with the Seattle Seahawks, this move makes too much sense.
Cooks isn’t washed up just yet. He is coming off his worst season, but it’s worth noting that he only played in 10 games and Dak Prescott also missed nine games!
In 2023, he hauled in eight touchdowns!
I love this move to be honest. Kellen Moore loves play-action and Brandin Cooks is the perfect deep threat in those situations. He may not be quite as dynamic as Stefon Diggs. I like him more than Amari Cooper – who is coming off a season of 547 yards in 14 contests.
Cooks is almost always reliable to be on the field. He has only missed four or more games in two seasons.
I believe Cooks can offer what the deep threat Ted Ginn Jr. brought to the Saints a few years back. In Ginn’s first season with NOLA, he hauled in 787 yards and four touchdowns. He averaged 14.8 YPC!
I will give the Saints a B+ for this signing. I believe Cooks can still be productive. However, I believe they slightly overpaid for him. DeAndre Hopkins only signed a one year deal for $5 million! MVS also inked a contract for 1 year worth $5.5 million dollars.
I don’t expect the Saints to draft a WR in round 1 after this signing. I would still like running back Ashton Jeanty in this offense, especially with Alvin Kamara turning 30 this summer. A tight end would also make sense for the Saints, especially a TE that could help in the red-zone, which has been Carr’s Achilles heel in his career.
