Travis Hunter Outlook

Travis Hunter is arguably the best overall player in the 2025 NFL Draft. Hence, it wouldn’t be a surprise if someone traded up to snag Hunter. So, I’m going to untwine a five teams that could trade for him.

New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints traded away Marshon Lattimore in the middle of last season, which opened a massive hole. To make matters worse, the Saints failed to bring back Paulson Adebo. Pff. Just like that, the Saints desperately need a CB. Kool-Aid McKinstry hasn’t quite solidified himself as a starting CB and Alontae Taylor usually starts in the slot and not the outside.

Las Vegas Raiders

I’d love to see Hunter play WR for the Las Vegas Raiders. They are aching for WR talent after shipping away Davante Adams last season. Jakobi Meyers is a modest deep-threat, but they have big question marks at WR2 and WR3. Ultimately, they need a Pro Bowl WR, especially if they want to go blow for blow against Patrick Mahomes twice a season.

San Francisco 49ers

Kyle Shanahan would lose sleep creating ways to give Hunter the football. They pushed Deebo Samuel out the door and Brandon Aiyuk may be traded away, as well. Hunter and George Kittle would be the best WR-TE in the league. If there are explosive weapons at Shanahan’s disposal, the 49ers can make a deep playoff run.

New York Jets

Sauce Gardner and Hunter could be the best CB tandem in the league. The current CB2 for the Jets is Brandon Stephens, who had a PFF grade of 55.8 a season ago. Hence, they need more CB talent, especially if they want to beat the reigning NFL MVP Josh Allen!

Carolina Panthers

Adam Thielen will likely play for 1-2 more seasons, so they need a WR1 that is a long-term answer. Xavier Legette can be a 1k yard WR, but I’d still like to see them bring in a Pro Bowl-caliber wideout. Bryce Young looked like a first overall pick in moments in the second half of the season. He could take the next step with Hunter.
