Where will OBJ play?
By: Jake Rajala
Odell Beckham Jr. isn’t quite done with his pro career. I expect him to return to a familiar squad or pick a team with a superb chance of winning it all. With that said, I’m going to untwine the best landing spots for OBJ.
New York Giants
It’s time to blare “Coming Home” by Diddy. OBJ had many magical moments with the team that drafted him. Plus, the New York Giants could use more help with Malik Nabers. OBJ can shine on the outside, while Nabers dominates from the slot. Besides producing on the field, he would certainly help the Giants sell more tickets.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs love to sign free agent WRs. With DeAndre Hopkins on the Baltimore Ravens, it may be time for KC to properly replace him. Xavier Worthy is a true WR1, but I’d love to see more competition at the other WR spots.
New Orleans Saints
OBJ was born in Baton Rouge and he played college ball at LSU. This will certainly play a factor in OBJ loving the possibility of joining the Saints. The Saints are still looking to improve their roster, as they have 27 million in cap space. If they can’t acquire Amari Cooper, I’d love to see the Saints fall back and ink OBJ.
Dallas Cowboys
Jerry Jones loves bringing in flashy players. OBJ would be an exciting addition to a WR group that already has Ceedee Lamb. Jalen Tolbert and KaVontae Turpin aren’t imposing WRs after Lamb. Hence, they could benefit from more competition at the WR position.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles have one of the best WR duos in the league. However, their WR3 spot could be improved, as their current WR3 Jahan Dotson only hauled in 216 yards in the entire 2024 season. Plus, OBJ would mainly sign with Philly as they have a strong chance of winning another Lombardi trophy.
OBJ isn’t quite a future Hall of Famer in my opinion. I would like to see him make more key plays. I don’t believe he is a WR that can reel in 1k yards in a season anymore. Nonetheless, he could have more touchdowns in a Super Bowl. If he can win another Super Bowl (as he’s already won one SB), he deserves to be considered for a gold jacket in my opinion.
