Best work:
- The biggest moment in Drew Brees’s career is undoutedly his performance against the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV. It was a battle of quarterback legends, as Brees fought against Peyton Manning.
- Brees had one of his finest moments when he won Walter Payton Man of The Year in 2006. He is the only Saint to ever win Walter Payton Man of The Year!
- Brees showed his greatness and work ethic in the book, “Coming Back Stronger: Unleashing the Hidden Power of Adversity”. Brees was the author. The book garnered a 4.2 out of goodreads and 94% of Google users admired the book!
Background:
Brees loved to play flag football early in his life. He purposely picked the worse team and was confident in his ability to win. In 11th grade, Brees blew out his knee. He came back stronger and motivated and led his squad to a 16-0 record and state championship as a senior. He was selected as Texas High School 5A player of the year! He only picked up a scholarship offer from Kentucky and Purdue. Brees started his first game for Purdue in his sophomore season. He set 19 Purdue records and was selected into the Purdue Hall of Fame in 2009. Brees was selected by the Los Angeles Chargers in the 32nd overall pick of the 2001 NFL Draft. In his Brees suffered a brutal shoulder injury in 2005 on Christman Eve and the Chargers didn’t want him back, so he signed with the Saints alongside Sean Payton, and the rest is history.
Fun Facts:
- He nearly signed with Nick Saban and the Miami Dolphns in 2006.
- He owns at least 9 Jimmy Johns stores.
- Brees has thrown over 5,000 passing yards on five occasions!
- Brees has a record of 5-2 against Brady.
- Brees studied industrial management at Purdue.
Outlook:
Clearly, Brees is retired and has no plans of coming back. He has said that he can’t throw with his right arm anymore. He was with NBC last year, but he didn’t return to the analyst world this year. Personally, I’d love to see Brees become a coach in the NFL.
