What is the best landing spot for Ramsey?
By: Jake Rajala
All signs point toward Jalen Ramsey being traded from the Miami Dolphins. Ramsey has the Pro Bowl in four of his past five seasons. Nonetheless, the combination of age (30) and declining production is not delightful for the Phins nation. With that said, I’m going to untwine the best landing spots for Jalen Ramsey.
Philadelphia Eagles
Darius Slay and James Bradberry were axed from Philly this off-season. I’d prefer to see them bring in a veteran alongside Cooper DeJean. Ramsey can be the chip that brings them back to the Super Bowl. It won’t be easy to beat the Detroit Lions and the Washington Commanders with their current secondary.
New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints traded away Marshon Lattimore in the past regular season. They also witnessed Paulson Adebo leave in free agency. The Saints don’t only need CBs, but their division is mightily improving. Baker Mayfield had a Top-5 QB performance last season. Bryce Young also played much better in the second half of last season.
Los Angeles Rams
Ramsey may choose to play in a familiar territory. He could be the missing piece for a Rams squad that played like a Top-5 team in the back-half of last season. The Rams had a modest 11th place in passing yards allowed, but he could improve that for sure. Sean McVay once brought in Ramsey, Von Miller, and Bobby Wagner. He loves to swing big.
Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals pass defense has left Joe Burrow out to dry. They ranked 22nd in passing yards allowed last season. They also ranked 25th in points allowed. Cincy needs to have an improved secondary if they want to return to the big dance. Burrow is in a situation that Drew Brees was once in. As they both played like MVP-caliber QBs, but they were stuck with dreadful defenses.
Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys could have one of the best secondaries in the league with Ramsey. Not to mention that they have Micah Parsons in their front seven. Jerry Jones also loves to bring in big name players. Dallas also ranked 31st in PPG allowed! The Boys also ranked sixth in cap space, so they could certainly afford him.
