Did Jordy Nelson make a Pro Bowl?

Reflection on Jordy Nelson

By: Jake Rajala

Jordy Nelson is widely recognized as one of the best Green Bay Packers wide receivers of all time. His work was noticed – as he made the Packers Hall of Fame. With that said, It’s blasphemous to point out that he failed to make the Pro Bowl. Yes, you read that correctly. It’s worth comparing him to Marques Colston, who had six 1k yard seasons, yet failed to earn a Pro Bowl nod.

Nelson was simply a machine. He had three seasons of at least 13 touchdowns! Furthermore, he notched three seasons of at least 1,200 yards. He proved to be efficient out of Green Bay – as he unveiled 739 yards in 14 games in a pitiful Raiders offense in his last season. It’s absolutely crazy that Nelson was even voted the 18th best player out of the top 100 players in 2015.

Nelson also has a Super Bowl ring in his back pocket.

Fellow Packers legend Donald Driver even managed to make a Pro Bowl with 1,295 and 8 TDs in a single season. How the hell did Nelson deserve to not earn a Pro Bowl spot? Did they not give him a lot of love because he played with Aaron Rodgers? Well, it’s impossible to not point out that Wes Welker got Pro Bowl love, despite playing with Tom Brady!

Nelson was also not a flashy WR, which may have hurt him. He didn’t tell the media he was a Top-5 WR, or that he deserves to have a record breaking contract!

I believe that Nelson is the second best WR – after Davante Adams. Tae did manage to make a Pro Bowl, however.
