trade targets for the Saints
By: Jake Rajala
The New Orleans Saints have taken a lot of heat for not swinging to the fences in free agency and passing on Shedeur Sanders for Tyler Shough. Hence, I’d like to see the Saints bring in more talent. I believe this could happen in a trade, so I’m going to untwine five trade targets for the Saints.
- George Pickens
The Saints have been rumored as a favorite to land Amari Cooper. Instead, I’d love to see the Saints reel in a young gun by the name of George Pickens. According to Pro Football Rumors, Pickens is unlikely to be with the Steelers next season. Pickens hauled in 59 catches for 900 yards in 14 games last season.
- Trevon Diggs
The Saints desperately need more CB talent after trading Marshon Lattimore and not bringing back Paulson Adebo. Trevon Diggs has been somewhat injury prone over the past two seasons. This may make him more expendable from the Boys point of view. He is still 26 years old, so he has plenty of gas left in the tank.
- Jalen Ramsey
The Miami Dolphins are looking to re-tool their roster. I wouldn’t be surprised if Jalen Ramsey and Tyreek Hill are shipped out. The LA Rams have been reported as a team to land Ramsey, as they were once on the same side. Ramsey could play 3-4 more seasons, just as Darius Slay is 34.
- Brandon Aiyuk
Brandon Aiyuk may be expensive, but he could be a WR2 on the Saints. He can run any route and he has impressive deep speed. I will give him a pass last season, as he only played in several games. However, he recorded 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns in 2023.
- Hunter Henry
The Saints haven’t had a prolific tight end since Jimmy Graham. Jared “fumble” Cook wasn’t quite impressive enough to dismantle foes. Hunter Henry put up a career-high 674 yards last season. It goes to show that he can shine with a quality QB. Kellen Moore is a flat out genius and he would be able to get bigger numbers out of Henry.
