New Orleans Saints: 5 QBs that are worth trading for

Saints: 5 QBs to watch

By: Jake Rajala

There is no secret: Derek Carr has officially retired. Hence, they could really benefit from the addition of a quality QB. After all, they are the only team with a QB that doesn’t have an NFL win! With that said, I’m going to untwine five QBs that may be worth trading for.

Cooper Rush

I love the potential fit for Cooper Rush and New Orleans. He has a career record of 9-5. Furthermore, he played under Kellen Moore in Dallas. If the Ravens don’t want to trade him, they may be persuaded if the Saints throw in Spencer Rattler. Of course, they could include him in any trade to any team. The Saints have that luxury of three QBs with modest potential.

Mitchell Trubisky

I hope Mitchell Trubisky is getting a quality education in Buffalo. Let’s still be honest – Mitch isn’t dead yet. He is only 30! He still has a career record of 31-26! Is he the QB that can unleash an 11-3 record again? Probably not. Can he unveil 9-10 wins? Maybe!

Kenny Pickett

I recently talked about their potential marriage. I don’t love that Kenny is only 27, but he still could be the best Saints QB. The 2022 first round pick has a record of 15-10, which may come as a surprise. He had two straight seasons of a 7-5 record!

Jameis Winston

Giants Wire does a nice of speculating how Jameis Winston may be a fine fit for the Saints. There is clearly a tie there. However, Sean Payton was calling the shots with Winston. It will be risky with a rookie head coach in Kellen Moore trying to balance an up-and-down QB and manage a team.

Gardner Minshew

Minshew Mania is seen somewhat as journeyman, as he’s switched a few times over the past several seasons. Nonetheless, that doesn’t deny his ability to make crisp short throws and evade traffic to make beautiful throws on the run. Let’s not forget that Minshew made the Pro Bowl in 2023.

Honorable Mention:

Daniel Jones

The Indianapolis Colts QB Daniel Jones has had flashes of excellence. He just hasn’t quite been able to stay consistent. His best season came in 2-2 where he unleashed an 9-6 record. He has better toys than what he had any time with the GMEN. He is also 27, so he could play for 10-13 more years!
