Easiest games for the Saints
By: Jake Rajala
As widely known, the NFL schedule has been released. Well, I’m going to take an exciting angle by untwining the five easiest games for the Saints. Let’s begin.
Giants
The GMEN are in somewhat of a rebuild. Similar to the Saints, they are rolling with a rookie QB. I would say the difference between the two teams is that the Saints have a bit more firepower and Pro Bowl defenders at each part of their defense. If the Saints can prevent Malik Nabers from balling out, there won’t be another figure from dominating. Meanwhile, if the Giants hold back Chris Olave, the Saints still have Rashid Shaheed, Brandin Cooks, and even Alvin Kamara in the passing game.
Patriots
I believe that Drake Maye was the most overrated QB last season. He somehow made a Pro Bowl, despite going 3-9 and throwing 15 TDs to 10 ints. If Maye deserved to go to the Pro Bowl, then Spencer Rattler deserved to go. All jokes aside, they have a new weapon by the name of Stefon Diggs. He will make his magic happen. Nonetheless, the Pats still ranked 21st in PPG allowed, which was worst than the Saints spot (18th).
Panthers
I believe the Saints have the Panthers number. They split games last season, but the Saints victory came by the score of 47-10. The Panthers ranked dead last in PPG allowed last season! The Panthers are somewhat in a rebuild on defense as they recently cut Jadeveon Clowney. As a Saints fan, I like that they cut him.
Jets
I really don’t like that the Jets didn’t bring in Russell Wilson, Kirk Cousins, or even Aaron Rodgers. Justin Fields has a career record of 14-30. If Fields struggles in the passing game, I feel like they will squeeze out his legs and running ability. Tyrod Taylor is a modest back-up, so he may potentially be able to outplay Fields.
Titans
Cam Ward may have been the first overall pick, but he’s still a rookie. It’s all too common that first overall picks struggle in their first season. The Titans don’t exactly have a Prometheus-like offense. Their WR2 is Tyler Lockett, who is washed up. Their WR2 is Treylon Burks, who is a bust.
The Saints have the second easiest NFL schedule after the 49ers have the easiest schedule among all teams. The Saints are thankful to have one of their easier foes in their division. With that said, I’m looking forward to seeing how the Saints stack up to the Falcons and Buccaneers.
