5 replacements for Sean McVay

Replacements for Sean McVay

By: Jake Rajala

Just as Aaron Donald retired somewhat soon in his career, there is a legit chance Sean McVay retires at a young age. With that simply said, I’m going to untwine a few replacements for McVay.

Mike McCarthy

Mike McCarthy is very underrated in my opinion. He doesn’t deserve the hate he garners. He went 12-5 in 2021, 2022, and 2023! He also holds a Lombardi trophy in his back pocket. McCarthy is a QB whisperer. He could grow with a young QB.

Klint Kubiak

Klint Kubiak showed to be a creative, aggressive play-caller last season. With Derek Carr, the offense was firing on all cylinders (which was shown in their 2-0 start). Carr was quite efficient- as he threw 15 TDs to 5 ints. The Saints ranked 20th in rushing attempts and the Rams ranked 21st in rushing attempts. It’s clear they both love being balanced!

Jon Gruden

It may be wise to have an offensive-minded face take over the building. After all, Donald, Bobby Wagner, and Jalen Ramsey are out of the building. Jon Gruden has made mistakes off the field, but he’s a nice, football guy. I believe he can rebuild the Rams within 2-3 years to become an NFC powerhouse. Plus, the Rams or any team will likely not have to break the bank for him, as he’s desperate for a chance.

Kliff Kingsbury

Kliff Kingsbury wasn’t a dud when it came to unleashing the best version of his QBs. His latest work was helping Jayden Daniels win OROY. He just couldn’t find a defense to save his life. I’d love to see a GM give Kingsbury a chance with a quality defensive coordinator.

Ron Rivera

Ron Rivera loves California, as he’s the GM of the California Golden Bears. If he wants to return to the big leagues, he doesn’t have to travel very far. I believe that Rivera will go out swinging with his NFL career. He needs to find a successful QB and NOT a journeyman QB in his next NFL gig.
