Top 10 picks of the 2021 NFL Draft
By: Jake Rajala
The 2021 NFL Draft was special. There were many elite studs across the table. With that simply said, I’m going to do a re-draft of the Top 10 picks of the 2021 NFL draft.
1. Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevor Lawrence
It’s not easy to find your golden QB. Well, the Jags swung and hit with their first overall pick. Trevor Lawrence was injured last season, after going 9-8 in 2022 and 8-8 in 2023. If Lawrence doesn’t shine with Travis Hunter, I will surely replace him on this list.
2. New York Jets: Micah Parsons
Micah Parsons is arguably best defender in the league. After J.J. Watt and Aaron Donald, Parsons has arrived. If he can stay healthy, he will be a Hall of Famer after five more seasons.
3. San Francisco 49ers: Pat Surtain
Pat Surtain won DPOY from the CB spot. That is quite hard to achieve. The 49ers have Nick Bosa and Fred Warner. They are just missing some prolific faces on the back-end of their defense.
4. Atlanta Falcons: Ja’Marr Chase
Ja’Marr Chase is an upgrade over Kyle Pitts here. Chase has shown to be a Top-3 WR in this league. It’s rare to see a WR take over games. We witnessed it happen with Megatron. It’s happening again with the likes of Chase.
5. Cincinnati Bengals: Penei Sewell
The Bengals didn’t lose to the Rams due to a lack of explosion. They lost due to a lack of protection. The LA Rams DL, especially Aaron Donald, feasted on Burrow all game.
6. Miami Dolphins: Jaylen Waddle
“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.
Jaylen Waddle has proven to be one of the most dangerous deep threats in the league. His best season came in 2022, where he unleashed 1,356 yards and 8 TDs. He averaged a league-high 18.1 YPC in the same season!
7. Detroit Lions: Amon-Ra St. Brown
The third WR in the Top-10 goes here. Amon-Ra. St Brown can dominate, despite the attention he generates. Of course, he landed with the Lions, so it’s fascinating to see him land here in a re-draft.
8. Carolina Panthers: Christian Darrisaw
The Buccaneers and Saints have stout defensive fronts. The Panthers need more beef to man-handle the NFC South foes. Plus, they need to protect Bryce Young, who is a smaller QB (as he’s 5’10).
9. Denver Broncos: DeVonta Smith
The Denver Broncos would have one of the best WR tandems in the league with Courtland Sutton and DeVonta Smith. Smith can dazzle from any WR spot. According to PFF, he has a career grade of 85!
10. Philadelphia Eagles: Gregory Rousseau
The Eagles should have not only added a quality pass rusher in this draft, but a replacement for Brandon Graham. Gregory has a career PFF grade of 93.5! He registered 24 QB hits, 8 sacks, and 16 TFLs! He was one of the best DL to not get over 10 sacks.
