Is Tua a Top-10 QB?

The Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has proven to be one of the most prolific, young QBs in the league. With that said, a fascinating question arises: is he a Top-10 QB?
Nick Shook of NFL.com pegs Tua as the 18th best QB. I will unfold his 8th-18th best QBs.
8. Matthew Stafford
9. Jalen Hurts
10. Jordan Love
11. Justin Herbert
12. Geno Smith
13. Sam Darnold
14. Brock Purdy
15. C.J. Stroud
16. Bryce Young
17. Kyler Murray
18. Tua
So, are those QBs deservedly ahead of Tua?
Tua has unleashed a 72.9 completion percentage last season, which was first in the league. In 2023, he unveiled 4,624 passing yards, which was also first in the league! So, why is there hate for the Phins QB? I believe it’s partially due to his injuries. He missed six games last season, four games in 2022, and five games in 2021. He also hasn’t had any playoff success.
With that all said, I would rank Tua ahead of Kyler, Bryce Young, Sam Darnold, Geno Smith, and Jordan Love.
Stafford can be inconsistent and average at long periods of time, but he has made many Pro Bowls and most importantly: He won a Super Bowl. Hence, it’s hard to deny his ranking. This also applies to Jalen Hurts being slotted in the Top-10.
As previously noted, I would put Tua ahead of Love. If Tua can’t catch a break for not having a lot of active games or missing a lot of games, then neither should Love. The Packers QB has only played in 33 games, which has unveiled to be an 18-15 record.
However, I would slot Justin Herbert and C.J. Stroud ahead of Tua. Stroud earned OROY and a Pro Bowl berth in 2023. I don’t believe that Herbert is one of the best QBs of all time. However, Meanwhile, Herbert didn’t only win OROY, but he has played at a high level across five seasons.
In the end, I believe that Tua is the 13th best QB in the NFL. He still has all the tools and roster to help him become a Top-10 QB in the near future! I’d like to see him put together an insane completion percentage, passing yard figure, and passing touchdown number. Hopefully, he has Tyreek Hill in his arsenal to make the magic happen!
