Potential Russell Wilson trade destinations

Russell Wilson sits in a crowded quarterback room for the second straight season. There is a lot of hope that Jaxson Dart, who was taken by the GMEN, will start in the near future. If that unfolds, Wilson will be one of the best QB2s in the league. Hence, it would make sense to trade him. So, I’m going to untwine the best Russell Wilson trade destinations.
Indianapolis Colts
I understand that the Colts don’t want to break the bank for a QB with Anthony Richardson just yet. Daniel Jones was a low-risk profile, as he’s barely cost the Colts a dime. I would still say that Wilson is an upgrade over both of these QBs. It looks like the Colts aren’t in the Rodgers sweepstakes, so it makes sense to potentially acquire an affordable and talented veteran such as Wilson in pre-season.
New Orleans Saints
The other team in this featured image would fit well with Wilson. The Saints are the only NFL team without a QB to win a game. Tyler Shough is a rookie, Spencer Rattler is in his second season, and Jake Haener is in his third season. Wilson would fit in quite well with Kellen Moore and his ability to utilize dual-threat QBs. Wilson also has a beautiful deep throw, which pairs nicely with Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed’s deep speed.
New York Jets
I don’t love Justin Fields, to say the least. He has a career record of 14-40 and he was benched last season in favor of Wilson! Even if Fields did start, he could realistically not endure the long season. Then the Jets would be relying on Tyrod Taylor, who is 4-7 in his last 11 games. He has a career record of 28-28-1.
Cleveland Browns
Perhaps the Browns can trade Joe Flacco back to Indy and acquire Wilson in the process. I assume the Browns would also trade away Kenny Pickett to a different team. Wilson can manage the game better than Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel. Wilson also has a similar skillset as Shedeur, so this will make it smoother for each QB to digest the playbook.
Tennessee Titans
It hasn’t been easy for former first overall picks at QB to thrive. I wouldn’t be surprised if Cam Ward struggles behind an OL that ranked 26th in sacks allowed. Plus, the Titans don’t have the sexiest weapons. I’d love to see a veteran rather than a rookie press the buttons and take the lumps.
Honorable Mention:
New England Patriots
Drake Maye was the most overrated Pro Bowler last season and it wasn’t close. He went 3-9 and threw 15 TDs to 10 ints. To make matters worse, it’s already been reported that Maye has been an interception machine. I’d love to see Wilson breathing down the young QB’s neck.
