2019 NFL Draft redraft
By: Jake Rajala
The 2019 NFL Draft was spectacular. There were some future Hall of Famers that came from this class. I really liked the edge rushers in this group. With that said, I’m going to take a fun angle by untwining a redraft of the first 10 picks. Let’s begin.
1. Arizona Cardinals: Kyler Murray
Kyler Murray has proven to be the long-term answer at QB for the Cardinals. Murray has struggled to win over the past couple of seasons, but he can light it up on the scoreboard often. He also has a wicked hail marry throw.
2. San Francisco 49ers: Nick Bosa
Sorry to say this Joey, but I believe Nick has the edge over you. Nick has won DPOY and he’s made five Pro Bowls! Nick has done a fine job of staying healthy.
3. New York Jets: Maxx Crosby
Mad Maxx is a Top-5 DE, no doubt about it. Crosby often faces double and triple teams, so his stats don’t tell the whole story of his ability. He deserves to have so much praise from Alma mater Eastern Michigan.
4. Las Vegas Raiders: A.J Brown
The Raiders have Aston Jeanty, but they could also benefit from a Top-10 WR that loves to read on the sideline. A.J. Brown excels in making defenders miss in space.
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Quinnin Williams
Williams can wreak havoc on the inside, which is somewhat rare. Before Jalen Carter arrived, Williams was causing constant pressure from the IDL.
6. New York Giants: Deebo Samuel
Sorry, Washington. Deebo Samuel is the swiss army knife that goes in the Top-6 of the draft. Deebo is like a Percey Harvin figure that can do it all.
7. Jacksonville Jaguars: Montez Sweat
“I am speed”
Montez Sweat can win with raw speed against offensive tackles. In 2023, he registered 12.5 sacks, 25 QB hits, and 14 TFLs.
8. Detroit Lions: DK Metcalf
Metcalf is sort of a poor man’s version of Megatron. To be fair, he didn’t get an elite QB to play with in Seattle. It will be fascinating to see how he produces with Aaron Rodgers.
9. Houston Texans: Terry McLaurin
Scary Terry and CJ Stroud would be a Top-5 QB-WR in the league. The Texans have struggled at retaining elite WR talent, such as Stefon Diggs.
10. Denver Broncos: Brian Burns
Brian Burns isn’t J.J. Watt, but he can be a borderline Pro Bowler each season. He has unleashed 54.5 sacks and 113 QB hits in six seasons.
