Saints 2025 outlook
By: Jake Rajala
The New Orleans Saints have been projected to be all over the map, after suffering a 5-12 record last season. There are estimations about the Saints getting the first overall pick in the 2026 draft. As a Saints fan, I’ve seen enough about them being rumored to land there. There are also rumors about the Saints returning to be the Bucs worst enemy and winning the division.
With that said, I’m going to unveil the best and worst case for the Saints in 2025.
Best outlook
9-8
I could see the Saints having a similar story as the 2024 Bengals, who went 9-8. They could put up fireworks with Chris Olave, Alvin Kamara, Rashid Saheed, and then: Tyler Shough. However, I expect a tired, old Saints defense (with Cameron Jordan, Demario Davis, and Tyrann Mathieu) to slightly hold them back. The Saints should also do well in their division and I even believe they could sweep the Falcons, Panthers, and even Buccaneers.
Worst outlook
2-15
The Saints could experience injuries with their skill players, similar to last season. We could also get too many games from Spencer Rattler, who went 0-9 last season! Tyler Shough could also be injured, as he had three season ending injuries in college! The Saints also have a secondary that no longer has Marshon Lattimore and Paulson Adebo. Of course, I really wish CGJ was still on the Saints. The Saints pass rush was not impressive last season. I believe they were at its floor, as nobody eclipsed 5.5 sacks. If the Saints are the worst team, they will most likely get Arch Manning, at least.
The Saints are harder to predict than most teams, due to having a rookie and second-year QB at the QB spot. There are also young QBs in the same division. They also play in a division that doesn’t have a clear-cut winner. I hope the football gods don’t allow multiple starters to get benched in the NFC South for the second straight season.
