Best and worst case for the New York Jets

Realistic case for the New York Jets

By: Jake Rajala

The New York Jets need to return to the days when Mark Sanchez played like a Pro Bowler and Darrelle Revis performed like an All-Pro. They have a shiny new head coach named Anthony Glenn, who has the fire to succeed. With that simply said, I’m going to take a unique, fascinating angle by untwining the best case and worst case for the Jets in 2025-2026.

Worst case

I believe the worst case for the Jets is 4-13.

The Jets could absolutely be a terrible team in 2025 They have a QB named Justin Fields. He has a 14-40 record and he was also benched last season. Even if Fields plays, he could struggle with their offensive talent around Garrett Wilson. They also ranked 31st in rushing YPG last season. It will be hard for a dual-threat QB to have a team struggle to run and be in third and long situations. Not only are there holes in the Jets roster, but they play the Bills and Dolphins twice each, so they may drop six games in their division!

Best case

The best case is that the Jets win 11 games.

Fields could likely struggle, but his best version may be enough to help them reach the playoffs. We witnessed the “rookie Lamar Jackson” rally his team to 14 wins. If Jackson can defeat his foes with his legs, despite little experience, than Fields can bring his team to be a wildcard team. Let’s not forget about the Jets defense. They have Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams. They both can play like All-Pros, even if they’ve lost a stride.

It’s better that the Jets are experimenting with a young QB, while the Patriots and Dolphins have projects at their QB spot. Of course, the AFC East favorite is none other than the Buffalo Bills.
