First year Pro Bowlers for the Chiefs
By: Jake Rajala
The Kansas City Chiefs have had surprise production from many players in the Andy Reid-Patrick Mahomes era. There are still some players blossoming. With that said, I’m going to cover some rising players who could shine enough to make their first Pro Bowl. Let’s begin.
Xavier Worthy
Let’s not forget who the fastest man on the planet is. No, it’s not Tyreek Hill. It is Xavier Worthy! Worthy recorded 638 yards and six touchdowns last season. He should fine-tune his craft. However, he should also improve from an uptick in involvement. DeAndre Hopkins is no longer in town, as he went to the other Super Bowl contender (Baltimore Ravens). It took the Chiefs a season to know how to utilize Hill. I expect the Chiefs will have a better idea of how to use Worthy after his rookie season.
Trent McDuffie
It’s a joke that Trent McDuffie hasn’t made the Pro Bowl. He was first-team All-Pro in 2023 and then second team All-Pro last season! In 2023, he had five forced fumbles and 9 QB hits! PFF handed Trent a PFF grade of 83.1 last season, which was third among CBs! He’s not a ball-hawk, but he can lock down opposing WR1s. He also stays healthy, which can be an issue for elite CBs.
George Karlaftis
George had 6 sacks, 11 QB hits, and 9 TFLs as a rookie. He elevated his game in 2023, where he had 17 QB hits and 10.5 sacks. He was so close to making the Pro Bowl as a sophomore. He was arguably not only a snub in 2023, but he was productive in 2024. I expect the Chiefs to move him around more in 2025, just as they move Chris Jones all over the DL. If Frank Clark deserved to make the Pro Bowl, then George should have already gotten a Pro Bowl spot.
The Chiefs are scary to play against, due to the likes of Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Chris Jones. Well, let’s not forget about these young players that are still climbing the ladder. I expect them to make their first Pro Bowl!
