Best landing spots for Mac Jones

Mac Jones outlook

By: Jake Rajala

Not only is the former first round pick Mac Jones a back-up, but he’s 26 years old. There is sky-high potential for the youngster. He chose to play with the San Francisco 49ers. I believe it could benefit him for a season. After a “Harvard” education under Kyle Shanahan, I’d love to see him go somewhere else. With that said, I’m going to unfold prime landing spots for him.

New York Jets

I’m a big, non believer in Justin Fields. He’s 14-30 in his career. He is also coming off a season where he was benched. I’d love to see a pocket passer in the big apple throwing dimes to Garrett Wilson. The Jets were 16th in sacks allowed. Fields still needs to learn how to consistently make plays behind an average OL.

New Orleans Saints

I believe the Saints have two QBs who can be similar to Teddy Bridgewater, which means they can be a fine game manager who switches teams often. Shough’s flaw is that he is very injury prone, while Rattler isn’t consistent and that he is coming off an 0-9 record. Jones could absolutely start in the Big Easy.

Cleveland Browns

Joe Flacco won’t be in Cleveland beyond next season. Kenny Pickett also doesn’t have a sexy ceiling. I’d love to see another QB battle. This time around, I’d love to see Deshaun Watson with some motivation against Jones and Shedeur Sanders.

Honorable Mention:

Indianapolis Colts

Anthony Richardson is the new Tim Tebow, which isn’t a good look. He converts on nearly half of his passes. He’s also injury prone. Daniel Jones is also 22-44 in his career. He had one winning season (where he was 9-6-1).

In the end, I believe that there is time for Jones to turn it around with a new team in 2026. Let’s not forget that he had a 10-7 record as a rookie and made the Pro Bowl. I’d love to see him play a couple of games this upcoming season to show he can shine with a quality offense.
