Ranking the top RBs in the NFC East

Best RBs in the NFC East

By: Jake Rajala

The NFC East doesn’t have a lot of talent at the running back spot, to be clear. However, there is some youth in the division, so there’s potential for growth. There is also one cream of the crop RB. The best RB in the division is clearly Saquon Barkley. He is the face of the NFC East RB group, which isn’t debatable. With that said, I’m going to unfold how the three other RBs shape up.

4. Javonte Williams

Javonte Williams is certainly the worst starting RB in the division. He lacks elite traits. He only averaged 3.6 YPC in 2023 and 3.7 YPC in 2024. His best season came when he was a rookie, where he ran for 903 yards. PFF handed Williams a grade of 61.6. This was 41st among 47 RBs.

3. Tyron Tracy Jr.

Tyron Tracy Jr. was one of the most underrated rookies last season. He ran for 839 yards and five touchdowns. He also averaged 4.4 YPC, which is modest. I believe he can eclipse 1k yards with chemistry in Brian Daboll’s scheme. I’d still like to see the Giants bring in another quality RB, especially for the passing game. Perhaps Nyheim Hines would be a proper fit.

2. Brian Robinson Jr.

Brian Robinson Jr. has had quirky outcomes over the past few seasons. He played in 12 games in 2022, 15 games in 2023, and 14 games last season. He ran in the 700s for each season. I want him to break that trend, stay healthy for 17 games, and eclipse 1k rushing yards. He’s also an underrated pass catcher. He recorded 368 receiving yards in 2022.

1. Saquon Barkley

Saquon Barkley, also known as the face of Madden, isn’t only the best RB in the division, he’s the best RB in the league! Barkley can hop over defenders backwards and take it the distance. He didn’t only break 2k rushing yards, but he also averaged 5.8 YPC in the process! He deserved OPOY, to say the least. I’d like to see him get another 1-2 elite seasons to cement himself for Canton. We witnessed Michael Thomas win OPOY and then fall apart. I’d love to see a little more from Barkley.
