Nix can win OPOY in 2025

Bo Nix developed from an inconsistent project QB to a Pro Bowl-caliber QB last season. He finished with a respectable 29 passing touchdowns. With that said, I’m going to take the next step with Nix and unfold why he can win OPOY!

It’s not easy for a wide receiver to win Offensive Player of The Year. Well, Michael Thomas did that under Sean Payton. Not only did Payton know how to press the right buttons with a WR, but he had a plethora of success with QBs. Drew Brees threw over 5k yards on five occasions! He also led Teddy Bridgewater to a 5-0 record and Jameis Winston to a 5-2 record!
- Division
The Broncos arguably play in the toughest NFL division. With that said, I believe that Nix is ready to win. If he can even split games with the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers, he will have a lot of respect. After all, Josh Allen got a lot of praise for beating the Chiefs in the 2024 regular season.
- Marvin Mims
According to Pro Football Rumors, Marvin Mims is likely to be used as a WR2. He was first-team All-Pro as a returner. He averaged a league-high 15.7 Y/return. Just as we’ve seen Tyreek Hill make that transition and Rasheed Shaheed develop as a more dangerous WR, I believe that Mims is destined to be a 1k yard WR that can take the top off a defense via his speed.
Bo Nix has freakish arm talent, but he still needed to grow chemistry with Payton and company. I believe that he should not only improve due to the people around him, but he will clearly improve from getting wiser from Payton’s massive call sheet. His learning curve is certainly different from other young QBs.
Bo Nix also has a superb defense. The Denver Broncos DC Vance Joseph unfolded a defense that led the league in sacks and placed third in PPG allowed last season. He is in the opposite situation than what Joe Burrow is in. Burrow led the league in passing yards and passing touchdowns, but his defense ranked 25th in PPG allowed, which ultimately led his squad to have a less-than-satisfying 9-8 record.
