Best Jauan Jennings trade spots
By: Jake Rajala
The secret is out: Jauan Jennings is upset with his contract and situation. Hence, there is a lot of speculation that he will be the next 49ers weapon to be traded (after Deebo Samuel). With that said, I’m going to unfold the best destinations for him.
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers are all in on winning the Super Bowl. Hence, they should take a WR to play opposite DK Metcalf and replace the shoes left by George Pickens. Jennings is one of the hottest WRs on the market, especially with him being 28. That’s younger than Amari Cooper and OBJ.
New York Jets
The newly paid man, Garrett Wilson, can’t carry the Jets offense. If he was a Top-5 WR, they wouldn’t have brought him Davante Adams last season. Jennings could be a WR2 on the Jets offense, ahead of Josh Reynolds and Allen Lazard. Justin Fields also needs all the help he can get.
New Orleans Saints
The Saints have a prolific WR duo with Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed. Shaheed hasn’t proven to stay healthy for a whole season yet. They also have Brandin Cooks. However, I mainly see him as a one year rental. Taysom Hill is also 35 in August. They could benefit from another play-maker.
Cleveland Browns
Jerry Jeudy is a quality weapon, but it’s a drop-off after him. Cedric Tillman isn’t better than Jennings, to say the least. Jennings could also help a likely average starting QB (in Joe Flacco or Kenny Pickett) play better. They still have David Njoku to wreak havoc from the slot.
Denver Broncos
Sean Payton stays aggressive 365 days of the year. Payton could link Jennings and peg him at WR2 ahead of Devaughn Vele, who was a seventh round draft pick in 2024, and Marvin Mims Jr. Mims Jr. only recorded 503 yards last season. Payton always had a deep threat in New Orleans, wether it was Devery Henderson. Robert Meachem, or Brandin Cooks.
Honorable Mention:
Las Vegas Raiders
Brock Bowers will demand more attention next season. This should open up room for other Raiders weapons to thrive. The Raiders lack WR talent, so this would really go a long way for Raider nation. Ashton Jeanty could open up the play-action game, which would help Jennings as a deep threat.
