Outlook on Tyreek Hill
By: Jake Rajala
Tyreek Hill is one of the most explosive players in the league. His success has even made him viewed as the best overall player! With that said, Hill took a step back last season, while other WRs proved to be elite. So, I’m going to unfold the floor and ceiling of Hill.
Hill’s worst season since 2019 came last season, where he averaged 959 yards and six touchdowns. PFF also gave him a grade of 72.7. It’s shocking this happened, after he recorded 1,799 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns in 2023. He even missed a game in 2023. I believe the biggest reason that he dropped off was that Tua Tagovailoa missed six games!
It’s hard to judge a floor given that Tua was injured. He has been injured, but missing six games was a career high. Hence, I have to factor that in. I believe that Hill’s floor is 1,200 receiving yards. In 2020, he recorded 1,276 yards and 2021, he hauled in 1,239 yards.
Hill will still be the WR1, despite Jaylen Waddle on the roster. Hill had 123 targets last season, while Waddle had 83 targets. Waddle also had uncharacteristic stats last season, as he had 744 yards, which was his first time not having over 1k yards.
Tua led the league in passing yards in 2023. If he can stay healthy for 17 games and come near that figure, Hill should be a Top-5 WR again. He has 1,799 yards and 1,710 yards in two of his three seasons in Miami! If Tua takes the next step and stays healthy, I believe that Hill could be a 2k-yard WR. He is still 31 years old, so he has a couple more seasons in the tank.
