Saints facing a crucial year

The New Orleans Saints have a complex roster. There are a lot of guys who have a make or break 2025 season. It won’t be easy for everyone to shine. With that said, I’m going to unfold these Saints.
Rashid Shaheed
PFF nicely projected the deep threat WR Rashid Shaheed to break out last season. Well, that didn’t exactly happen. He only played in six games. He needs to prove that he’s not only an All-Pro returner, but rather one of the best deep threats in the game. He was on pace to have around 1k yards.
Chase Young
If Chase Young doesn’t want to get flipped for a mid-round pick, he needs to have career numbers. He only had 5.5 sacks last season. Bryan Bresee had 7.5 sacks from the DT spot. There is no reason that the former first overall pick should have fewer sacks than Bresee. Plus, Young needs to prove that he can be the long-term answer at DE, as Cameron Jordan will likely retire after this upcoming season.
Trevor Penning
Trevor Penning appears to like guard more than tackle. He will get a fine chance of proving his spot when the pads come on. Of course, Penning has been a bust as a first round pick, since he came into the league. Penning can still use his brute strength and aggressiveness to shine.
I’d love to see these three Saints shine. Shaheed and Penning need to prove themself, so they can get a hefty contract. As for Young, he needs to prove that he was worth his mega contract. Plus, the Saints young starting QB (whoever it may be), could really benefit from everybody doing their part.
