Best players in the AFC North
By: Jake Rajala
The AFC North has more prolific players than any other division. There are future Hall of Fame quarterbacks, pass rushers, defensive backs, and even a running back. With that said, I’m going to rank the Top-10 players in the AFC North.
10. Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers is somewhere between the 10th and 15th best QB in the league. He isn’t quite the same guy that can throw over 35 touchdowns. Rodgers threw for 28 touchdowns to 11 ints last season.
9. Jalen Ramsey
Jalen Ramsey is still an elite CB that have quality ball skills. He had six TFLs and 11 pass deflections last season. Perhaps Ramsey can play as long as his mate, Darius Slay, is playing. Slay is 34 years old!
8. Kyle Hamilton
Kyle Hamilton is most certainly one of the most versatile safeties. He was first-team All-Pro in 2023 and then second-team All-Pro last season. PFF gave him a grade of 90.4, which was third among safeties!
7. Trey Hendrickson
Mr. Sack Man, bring me a dream. Trey Hendrickson had 17.5 sacks in 2023 and then proceeded to have 17.5 sacks last season. He is pushing to get paid as much or more than T.J. Watt.
6. Derrick Henry
Derrick Henry was second in rushing yards (with 1,921) and first in rushing touchdowns (with 16) last season. Henry had a PFF grade of 94, which was first among RBs!
5. Ja’Marr Chase
Ja’Marr Chase was the best WR in football last season. He ranked first in receptions (127), receiving yards (1,708), and receiving touchdowns (17) a season ago. The question is: can he repeat the dominance?
4. Myles Garrett
Myles Garrett had 14 sacks last season and 22 TFLs (which was first in the league). He was first-team All-Pro in 2023 and last season. PFF gave him a grade of 92.3 last season.
3. Joe Burrow
The Chiefs DC, Steve Spagnuolo told Burrow he was the second best QB in football (right after Mahomes). He may have been right. After all, Burrow led the league in passing yards and passing touchdowns last season.
2. T.J. Watt
Make no mistake: T.J. Watt deserved to be the highest paid defender in football. He didn’t only have 11.5 sacks last season, but he also had a league high, six forced fumbles last season. The mighty question is: Is T.J. or J.J. Watt more dominant?
1. Lamar Jackson
Lamar Jackson is the best regular season QB in the NFL. After all, he had 45 total touchdowns last season. He just needs to find a way to shine in the playoffs. Jackson was second in MVP voting last season.
