Is Cameron Jordan washed up right now?
By: Jake Rajala
The New Orleans Saints drafted Cameron Jordan with their 24th overall pick in 2011. Jordan has been one of their best defenders since then. He’s registered 121.5 sacks, 233 QB hits, and 160 TFLs. He has often been unblockable. He doesn’t have Lawrence Taylor athletic ability, but he has a high motor and impressive pass rush moves.
Well, fast forward to 2025, and he is 36! His age has shown, to say the least. He has six sacks, eight QB hits, and 10 TFLs in the past two seasons combined.
Jordan had a PFF grade of 57.4 last season. Yes, you read that correctly. That placed him 130th out of 211.
Jordan is still a mildly versatile player. On 3rd downs, he likes to kick inside. Jordan and Bryan Bresee can play inside, while Chase Young and Carl Granderson come off the edge.
Jordan isn’t the only defender from the 2011 class to be still playing. Von Miller is still kicking it. Last season, he recorded six sacks, eight QB hits, and seven TFLs.
Jordan will not only be in the Saints ring of honor, but he is bound to be an NFL Hall of Famer and get a gold jacket. He will join Miller and J.J. Watt (who is also from the 2011 draft class) in football heaven.
Sure, Jordan is washed up and very likely playing his last season. Yet, that makes his plays all the more special.
Jordan joined the Saints shortly after their Super Bowl victory. Jordan deserves to win a Lombardi trophy. He sadly will likely not get it, with a young starting QB in Spencer Rattler or Tyler Shough. They aren’t quite the same caliber as Drew Brees.
