Gabriel trade destinations
By: Jake Rajala
Dillon Gabriel is currently the odd man out in the Cleveland Browns quarterback room. Shedeur Sanders was on fire with two touchdown passes and impressive scrambles a few days ago. Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett are veterans that are reliable. Hence, it makes sense to see a Dillon Gabriel trade. So, I will unfold a few trades with him.
New Orleans Saints
The Saints have the worst QB chart in the league. They need a spark at QB. Spencer Rattler fumbled the ball, Tyler Shough threw a pick-six, and Jake Haener even threw an interception in Week 1 of preseason. Gabriel is also a year younger than Shough and Rattler.
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers can groom Gabriel for a year to replace Aaron Rodgers. This may be wiser than throwing a 2026 rookie in the fire next season. A-Rod is most certainly retiring after 2026. If they don’t want Gabriel, they may want to find a way to acquire a projected, early first-round pick to snag a QB.
Arizona Cardinals
Kyler Murray hasn’t been superb at staying on the field. He only played in 8 games in 2023 and then 11 games in 2022. Not only have they missed Murray, but they have missed him against one of the most brutal schedules, which comes with the NFC West.
Green Bay Packers
I don’t love how Jordan Love has played over the past two seasons. He has yet to make a Pro Bowl. It wouldn’t be a complete surprise if a young, gifted QB came in and replaced him. If they want to not be third place in the division, they should find a way to get more production from the QB spot, whether it’s with Love or somebody new.
Los Angeles Rams
The LA Rams will likely witness Matthew Stafford leave within a few seasons. Similar to the Steelers, it would be wise to develop a QB right now, versus sending a rookie into the fire. Gabriel could create chemistry with Puka Nacua right away.
Within a few weeks, the QB depth chart could be different. Dillon could turn it around and play like a stud. However, he could certainly be on the trade block, if things continue to go the way they are.
