5 bold predictions about Week 2 of Preseason

Bold predictions about Week 2

By: Jake Rajala

Week 2 of Preseason is right around the corner. With that said, I’m going to take a thrilling angle by unfolding five bold predictions of Week 2.

  • Tyler Shough throws 2 TDs

Tyler Shough had a beautiful 54 yard touchdown throw to Mason Tipton last week. He also had a deep, catchable throw to his target, which would have been a touchdown if he caught it. Shough is a gunslinger, make no mistake. I believe he will put it all together in Week 2 and steal some of the spotlight from Shedeur Sanders.

  • Mahomes throws a pick-six

Mahomes didn’t look like a QB that threw 50 touchdowns in a single season in the past Super Bowl exhibition. I believe there’s some rust on him. I believe he will try to force a few balls to try and bounce back and one of his throws will be forced too much to the sideline and it will go the other way for six.

  • Shedeur Sanders has two turnovers

Shedeur Sanders may very well be the QB1 in Cleveland come Week 1. However, I believe he will face some adversity before that. He scrambled a bit too much in Week 1. I believe that will come back to haunt him and he will have a fumble. I also believe his tight window throws will result in one interception.

  • Bo Nix has three touchdowns

Bo Nix was a dud in Week 1. He only threw 6 for 11. Well, I believe he will bounce back and have three total touchdowns (2 passing, 1 rushing). Sean Payton has raved too much about him this off-season for him to be bad. Nix needs his backup WRs to get better at being open.

  • Justin Fields has a pair of touchdowns

Jutin Fields has proved me wrong thus far. I believe his scrambling ability is elite. His short passing game is also on fire. I foresee him in the Pro Bowl if he can stay healthy. He doesn’t even have Garrett Wilson or or a full load from Breece Hall right now.
