Where could Rattler be traded?
By: Jake Rajala
I fully expect Tyler Shough to be the long-term answer at QB. Hence, I believe Spencer Rattler will take a backseat to Shough, who was drafted in the second round of the 2025 draft. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Saints try to get anything for Rattler. So, I’m going to unfold five potential trade destinations for him.
Seattle Seahawks
Klint Kubiak, who is the Seahawks OC, was Rattler’s OC last season. Kubiak knows the strengths and flaws of Rattler. Kubiak is a very QB friendly OC. We witnessed Sam Darnold throw 4/4 and Drew Lock unleash 10 for 12 and a pair of touchdowns last night.
Green Bay Packers
I honestly believe that Rattler could push for Jordan Love’s job. Love has failed to be a Top-20 QB. Rattler could step in and utilize the likes of the deep threat Matthew Golden with his impressive arm strength. Love needs to be consistent and dangerous in the postseason, if he wants to keep his job long-term.
New York Jets
Justin Fields has a career record of 14-30. He was also benched last season. I would say Fields is one of the least trustworthy starting QBs in the league. I also believe that Rattler could fit well into the system, as Fields and Rattler both have a strong arm and ability to beat you with their legs.
Kansas City Chiefs
Rattler and Mahomes are both 6’1, 220 lbs. They also can make impressive throws on the run. They can often escape the pocket quite well. I also believe that Rattler has more potential than Gardner Minshew, who has failed to secure a starting gig.
Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen is like Rattler on steroids. Nonetheless, they both have incredible arm strength and the urge to leave the pocket and pick up a first down with their legs. Plus, Mitchell Trubisky has failed to dazzle and be a QB1 so far.
