Players to add for Week 2
By: Jake Rajala
There were a lot of fireworks in Week 1, especially on Sunday night between the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens. There were a lot of impressive and putrid outcomes. With that said, I’m going to discuss dynasty football. I’m going to lay out four Waiver wire pickups.
Shedeur Sanders
Joe Flacco was not a star QB in Week 1. He threw 2 ints against an average Bengals pass defense. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Browns give Shedeur Sanders the keys to the offense within 3-4 games. Sheduer had an up and down preseason. Caleb Williams really grew in 2025 to a quality pocket passer, while knowing when to use his legs. Shedeur could follow that path.
Spencer Rattler
Spencer Rattler wasn’t a stat machine in Week 1, but he was a modest QB. If they can get Rashid Shaheed going, they could have themselves a potent duo with Chris Olave and Shaheed. If Juwan Johnson caught the pass in the endzone, the game would have gone to OT.
Rattler and Kellen Moore are the youngest HC-QB tandem in the league.
Chig Okonkwo
Chig only caught a few passes in Week 1, which makes him the perfect pickup. Don’t sleep on Chig. Cam Ward is an upgrade at QB from last season. He will get Chig the ball more. Chig should see an uptick from 52 catches in 2023 and 54 catches in 2022. Defenses are keying on Calvin Ridley.
Juwan Johnson
As noted, Juwan dropped a critical pass in the endzone. I believe it’s fair to forgive him and move on. After all, it was Week 1. Juwan could be a fine security blanket for Rattler, as Kellen Moore is somewhat “hesitant to push the ball deep down the field”. Johnson had 8 grabs for 76 yards against the Cardinals.
Ultimately, it’s quite hard to predict how each player will do between each week, especially heading into Week 2. I feel comfortable with my four waiver wire players. I discussed two QBs and two TEs. I’m exciting to see how these young players grow.
