Who could replace Mike McDaniel?

Let’s be honest: the Miami Dolphins were the worst team in Week 1. It wasn’t close. A lot of this blame rests on the shoulders of the Ivy League grad Mike McDaniel. If they continue getting smacked around, McDaniel will likely be gone. With that said, I’m going to lay out potential replacements for Mike McDaniel.
Mike McCarthy
Mike McCarthy is waiting for the right opportunity. Perhaps he will be intrigued by the idea of having Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and even Da’Von Achane. McCarthy went 12-5 in 2021, 12-5 in 2022, and 12-5 in 2023! I would be shocked if he didn’t have consideration for the gig.
Jon Gruden
Somebody needs to tell Jon Gruden that the Raiders HC spot is off-limits. If he understands that, he should have other options to consider. Gruden is a Super Bowl Champion, and he recently got his name back on the Bucs Ring of Honor. Gruden likely won’t get a 10 year contract, but he could be one of the best HCs in the AFC.
Vic Fangio
We witnessed the Eagles OC Kellen Moore get an HC role in the Big Easy. It wouldn’t be a big surprise if the Eagles DC Vic Fangio was up next for the promotion. Yes, he didn’t shine as a HC before. I’d still like to see what he can do with a team loaded with talent, such as Miami.
Kliff Kingsbury
Kliff Kingsbury is a QB whisperer. Jayden Daniels was a darkhorse MVP candidate last season. He put up a lot of points with his prior HC roles. I’d love to see him with some of the most explosive players in the league.
Klint Kubiak
Klint Kubiak didn’t win in Week 1, but he’s one of the most creative play-callers in the league. He is still building chemistry with Sam Darnold. I expect him to bounce back, utilize Cooper Kupp more, and put up a fight against Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers in Week 2. It can be a statement game for Kubiak and Darnold.
Honorable Mention:
Josh McCown
Kevin O’Connell is arguably the best head coach in the league. Well, Josh McCown is a disciple to the genius. Josh knows the ins and outs of a talented offense. He is also is 46 years old, which is near the same age of McDaniel (42 years old).
