Raiders vs Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers travel to combat the Las Vegas Raiders. It is bound to be a gutsy divisional showdown. With that said, I’m going to take a fascinating angle and project four bold predictions.
Ashton Jeanty scores three times
Ashton Jeanty scored his first career touchdown last week. I believe the Raiders will feed Jeanty in the red zone. Not only is he a furious, bowling ball, but the Raiders will be hesitant to test a lethal Chargers secondary in the red zone. They won’t throw ball on the 1 yard line.
Khalil Mack gets a pair of sacks
Khalil Mack smelled blood in Week 1. He came close to taking down Patrick Mahomes in Week 1. I trust that Mack, who recorded 17 sacks in 2023, will show up on the stat sheet against LV. The Raiders RT is DJ Glaze. He had a PFF grade of 48.2 last week, which was 70th among RTs.
Justin Herbert throws three touchdowns
It would be really bold to say Justin Herbert will throw four touchdowns, but I will be semi-realistic. Justin Herbert already has impressive chemistry with his WRs, especially Keenan Allen. I’m not buying that the Raiders have an above average pass defense quite yet. Herbert unleashed three touchdowns last week. I believe he will do the same this week.
Derwin James has a pick-six
I believe that Geno Smith will be aggressive when it comes to passing to Brock Bowers. I expect Derwin James to get involved in covering the Raiders TE. I believe that the wise veteran at safety for the Chargers will have a beautiful read, pick the Raiders QB off, and bring it to the house.
The Chargers and Raiders are both coming off a Week 1 victory. They both feel like they can make the playoffs this season. Each team has a plethora of talent, which makes bold predictions more exciting.
