Mike Evans vs Chris Godwin

Mike Evans vs Chris Godwin

By: Jake Rajala

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have one of the most electric wide receiver duos in the league with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Each wideout has a distinct skillset, too. Evans can take hits across the middle of the field and make impressive touchdown catches. Godwin can juke out defenders in space and be a reliable pass catcher.

Evans has had a 1k yard season in every season of his career! Yes, you read that correctly. He’s talented and he pushes himself to stay healthy. He had made six Pro Bowls in his career. He also has a Super Bowl ring to his name.

Evans has a PFF grade of 71.1 so far this season. As Baker heats up, he will lean on Evans.

To be more specific, Evans has hauled in 12,791 yards, 105 touchdowns, and 846 catches.

Godwin has been one of the best slot WRs over the past few seasons. He only played in several games last season. He still has 7,266 career yards, 579 receptions, and 39 TDs. He has been a Pro Bowl snub in my opinion. He has only made one Pro Bowl.

The Bucs are still waiting for Godwin’s return from an ankle injury this season.

The Bucs don’t have the youngest WR duo, however. Godwin is 29 and Evans is 32. I suppose Evans has a couple of seasons left in him, and Godwin has four to five more seasons.

I don’t expect either Buc to be traded. They don’t only have impressive talent right now and they connect well with the community.

The Bucs rising WR Emeka Egbuka still may make one of the two WRs take a lesser role if he continues to play like a Pro Bowler. Emeka is a dark horse OROY candidate.
