Nick Bosa vs Joey Bosa
By: Jake Rajala
The Bosa brothers are highly gifted and high-motor defensive ends. The Buffalo Bill DE Joey is a few years older than the 49ers DE Nick Bosa.
Joey won DROY by way of 10.5 sacks, 21 QB hits, and 17 TFLs. Up until this point, Bosa has registered 73 sacks, 88 TFLs, and 159 QB hits! He has recorded four seasons of double digit sacks. His production has led him to make five Pro Bowls thus far.
Over the past few seasons, he has struggled to shine. He hasn’t eclipsed 6.5 sacks over that time span. He has only played in 28 games over the past few seasons, however.
Joey has turned things around “so far”. He has three forced fumbles this season. He’s a play-maker on a team that is the Super Bowl favorite.
Joey has a PFF grade of 89.8 thus far.
Nick has been quite the baller. He’s unleashed 64.5 sacks, 168 QB hits, and 91 TFLs in his career.
Similar to Joey, he won DROY. He didn’t look back after that. He has made four more Pro Bowls. His biggest accomplishment has been winning DPOY, which came in 2022.
After a couple of games this season, Nick has been a stud. He has a pair of sacks, four TFLs, and a FF. He has also reached the Super Bowl, but failed to win a Lombardi trophy.
Nick has a PFF grade of 84.3 so far.
In the end, I have to give the edge to Nick. He has similar production to Joey, yet he’s played in many fewer seasons than him. Of course, he also has won DPOY. I expect him to be a DPOY candidate in each of the next few seasons. Joey can stand out by winning a Super Bowl, however. This is a reasonable goal for him and his team.
