Malik Nabers vs OBJ: who has the edge?

Nabers vs OBJ

By: Jake Rajala

Malik Nabers and Odell Beckham Jr. are New York Giants legends. OBJ won OROY in a Giants uniform. Nabers made the Pro Bowl as a rookie.

The rise of Nabers is in full effect in his sophomore season. Malik hauled in 167 yards in Week 2. He has a QB in Russell Wilson, who isn’t scared to throw deep to him. His Week 3 story was different. Nabers only managed to record two grabs against the Chiefs on Sunday Night. Don’t let this dip in his play in one game hold you back from not believing in him.

Nabers had 1,204 yards and seven TDs in his rookie season. He did this, while missing a couple of games.

OBJ was quite impressive as a rookie. He unleashed 1,305 yds in 12 games! He would have been a Top-5 WR if he stayed healthy. Not only did OBJ shine as a rookie, but he also had 1,450 yards as a sophomore and 1,367 yards as a junior!

Let’s not forget he also made one of the best catches of all time against the Cowboys, despite being held! Furthermore, he had a TD against the Cincinnati Bengals in the big dance.

OBJ is somewhat washed up now, to be fair. I suppose he could be a modest WR3 on a team. He can play out wide and in the slot.

So, who has the edge?

I have to say that Beckham Jr has the edge. Each WR had an average QB throwing the ball to them. The difference was that OBJ was the better wideout. Of course, OBJ has a ring, too. I will say that OBJ hasn’t been a rock star WR over the past few seasons. Perhaps Malik can sustain more dominance after turning 30 years old.
